Integration with your system
ORB offers three flexible integration options to suit your systems and workflows – standalone solution, embedded widget, or full API control.
Level 1 – Standalone Mode
ORB is available through a secure, web-based platform – no installations or complex setup required. Patients connect to their GP records using NHS Login, while clinicians log in via their organisation’s portal and custom dashboard.
Perfect for quick deployment, ORB also provides a custom-branded registration page for a seamless patient onboarding experience.
Level 2 – Embedded Integration
ORB can be embedded directly into your existing system, enabling authorised users to access secure ORB content without ever leaving your platform. The ORB widget appears as a window within your system, allowing users to access and search NHS GP records in real time.
This seamless integration requires minimal development effort and does not require separate NHS assurance, keeping things simple, secure, and streamlined.
Level 3 – Full API Integration
Use our RESTful API (Swagger/OpenAPI) to build a custom front-end tailored to your organisation’s needs. ORB acts as the middleware, securely connecting your system to NHS GP records through the IM1 APIs.
This integration route requires NHS assurance and is ideal for organisations seeking full control over the user experience while ensuring secure and compliant access to NHS data.
